Quality Issues recording with Canon T7 on OBS

Hello guys

I am trying to use OBS for recording youtube videos. I am recording the screen with OBS and my face with a Canon rebel T7 (hooked up with the white cable from Canon) it all looks good until I strat recording. The first 5 seconds look good then the video begins to lagg substantially and freezes. I setup the settings to 30fps Res:1280x720 and video format to "Any"

White cable - sorry.. tells us nothing... sorry, but you are going to have to get a LOT more technical than that.

Note, that the older T7 is USB2, so don't expect high resolution video (per Canon). Canon's recommendation for quality is to use HDMI output, and a HDMI capture device (USB adapter). And then varies by camera model 'tricks' (and sometimes not possible) to get a clean HDMI output

and real-time video encoding is computationally demanding, so your computer needs to be up to the task [though per @qhobbes signature, much can be done with really old (11 generations) gear, BUT that takes significant expertise to pull off)

Hi guys, This is the OBS log file, the issue also happens when I try to record with the built-in camera( as I did during this log file), the video gets choppy and freezes.

Duplicate the OBS Profile and create a new Scene Collection.
On the new profile, set the Base and Canvas resolutions to 1280x720 and set the FPS to 30.
Add a Video Capture Device source, set the Resolution to 1280x720, FPS to 30, Format: Any, Color Space/Range 709/Limited, Buffering Enabled, enable Use Hardware Decoding When Available.
Close and restart OBS.
Are you still having issue? If so, what are all the available Video Formats?
