New version of software doesn't work on Windows 7

I have Windows 7. I used to use OBS-Studio-27.0.1-Full-Installer-x64, which worked fine.

I uninstalled that version of the software and then installed the latest version (OBS-Studio-28.1.2-Full-Installer-x64). When I try to run the software, I get this error:

"obs64.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in the dynamic link library dxgi.dll"

Thank you for your reply. I was not aware that versions of OBS Studio starting from 28.x do/will not support Windows 7. I was also not requesting or suggesting that there should be a change; I was merely reporting the error I received, with hopes of finding out why the error was occurring. (I wasn't sure if it was worth my time to try to manually find and download DLL files that produced errors on my machine.)

When I visited the 'download' section of the official OBS Studio website, what I saw was "The Windows release of OBS Studio supports Windows 10 and 11." A person can read that and interpret it to mean that Windows 10 and 11 are supported, but are not the only versions of Windows that are supported. Since version 27.0.1 supported Windows 7, and I read nothing about version 28.1 not being compatible with Windows 7, I assumed that Windows 7 was still supported - just not promoted or endorsed by the developers/publishers.

That said, I think it may be helpful to explicitly specify something like 'OBS Studio no longer supports Windows 7. Older versions of the software may still work with Windows 7, up to OBS Studio version 27.0.x." Anyway, as long as I am using Windows 7, I will continue to use version 27.0.x. I don't plan on 'upgrading' to Windows 10 or 11 because of poor performance and privacy concerns; I already dual boot between Windows 7 and Linux, and will exclusively use Linux if it ceases to be feasible to use Windows 7.

Additionally, Qt 6 has dropped support for Windows 7 & 8, macOS 10.13 & 10.14, Ubuntu 18.04 and all 32-bit operating systems. As such, OBS will no longer be supported on these platforms.
From the official patch notes for OBS 28.0.0

Windows 7 has been end-of-life since January 14, 2020. It has been unsupported by OBS since that date, "but may still work".
The download page isn't going to list all incompatible/unsupported versions of Windows, the same way a GPS won't tell you each turn NOT to take.
