Video Lag - GoPro to OBS 27.2.4

I'm using my GoPro Hero 10 as the video capture device and when I go to record OBS starts lagging on the video end. Audio stays good and synced, but the video seems truncated. I've tried to use different aspect ratio's but dont want to go lower than 1080 or 720, still seems to not be fast enough. I'm using an older Mac but have had no issues before. Although this is the first time i've tried video editing, i've recorded up to 24 tracks of audio with no issues so i dont think its a hardware issue. also, the gopro preview shows no issues of video lag or truncating.
