Dear all,
It's my first post here, thanks to all the amazing forum community for the huge amount of useful information I could fine here!
I am using OBS on Linux for live streaming and projection at hybrid events. I need to capture the speaker PC output, until now I made some attempts with VDO.ninja or NDI, but the setup is complex and I would prefer to avoid connecting the sources over IP network, so I am looking for a decent (don't need more than 1080p@30fps) USB 3 acquisition card.
I can obtain an Elgato HD60 S+, the fact that it implements UVC seems very good for linux compatibility, but I have some doubt about how I can control the different card audio sources (HDMI digital audio IN, and 3.5mm analog audio IN).
Official documentation only refers to Windows and MacOS, where an Elgato software is used to select one of two sources.
My questions:
- On OBS will I be able to see analog and hdmi audio input as independent audio sources, end eventually select/mix them in different scenes?
- If only one audio source can be selected at a time, will I be able to make the choice from the Source configuration within OBS? It is possible at all to make this election on linux?
- If only one audio source can be selected at a time, and I choose to use the HD60 S+ to capture the HDMI digital audio, while I am using my motherboard line-in to capture a different analog audio source, should I expect significant delays/lack of synchronization among the two audio inputs and with the HDMI video input?
If anyone has been using HD60 S+ with OBS on Linux, could you give a rapid feedback of your experience with it?
Thanks a lot!!!
