Script was tested only on Windows 11, but it allegedly works on other OSes as well
Script only works with OBS in version 29.0.0 or higher
What does this script does?
To put it simply, it tries to be the organizing function of NVIDIA Shadow Play.
Once you configure it you don't have to worry about anything else, because from now on your recordings as well as replays or screenshots will be sorted for you.
Tested only on Python version of 3.11.4, but it might work on other versions as long as there are no big changes!
How to install?
Press the
button, it will open a new window to my script's
GitHub repository.
It should look something like this
You need to download the
RecORDER.py
if you want to use my script.
For further instructions, you need to follow the
README
file readable on the main repository view.

README
, please click on button highlighted by either arrow #1 or arrow #2
Features of the script
In case of full screen applications:
- Moves recordings to a folder named after it
- Moves replay buffer recordings to folders named after it
Other features:
- When automatic splitting is enabled, it will also move actively move all of the recordings to folder named after it
- This feature might be unstable due to intricacies of files being used and not released from usage
- Verbose output of the script in the logs - you should be able to see the most important stuff on the go when available
- Sorts your screenshots to a special folder within the recorded gameplay from game folder
If not recording a full screen app, it will move any recording/replay buffer to a folder named "Manual Recording"
A big thanks to Penwy (@penwywern) for giving me tips on how to do this script
Plans for the future
- Implementing Toast Messages without 3rd party libraries
- ...
If some features won't be possible to implement without re-inventing the wheel anew, then I will probably make two different versions of the script, so you can go without the optional features.
